I made an electric dps, bow, skimming character and it have been great so far. Be mindful thou that electricity uses A LOT of energy. You will need a wep that helps you have energy until your stats can offset it. The iconic power words of power helps you restore your energy and hp while doing damage early on so that's pretty nice to help out too. The color of the swipe (for melee) and beams/bullets (for long-range) are determined by your powerset. There is much more customization in the end when you can pick up drops that allow you the styles of the main heroes and villains and other ones that are completely inaccessible when you start the game.
